Hi Mooses!
Are you ready for the holidays?  According to some of the
store displays, Christmas started in August!  We’re doing our
annual Holiday Bazaar again November 30.  Tami Axon does a
great job on this.  If you want to reserve a table to display your
stuff, please contact her.  We’ll also be serving lunch that day
too.  Check below for info.
Speaking of annual events, our Veteran’s Day Dinner &
Dance is happening November 9.  Chicken Fried Steak dinner
(free to Veterans).  Plus Flag Folding Ceremony, Silent/Live
Auction, Raffles, and live music by “No Principles”.
The Moose will be starting Sunday Bingo on November 10.
We’ll open at 10 am, and Bingo will start at 11.  The kitchen will
be open serving brunch.  Come check it out, and try our new
game “3 card bingo”!
We’re collecting items once again to send to troops
overseas.   There’s a tote in the bar for donations.  We need
snacks, toiletries, coffee, etc….  Please, no aerosol items or
bags of chips.   Cash donations also accepted (mailing these
packages cost several hundred dollars).  The packages will be
sent off  the second week in December.  This year they’re going
to an army group of  23 men & 4 women stationed in Iraq.  These
folks are a long way from home, and really appreciate what we
send.
Since Thanksgiving is almost here, I want to share
something I’m thankful for...volunteers.  Our Moose volunteers
consistently go above and beyond to keep our lodge running.
And it’s safe to say, without them, we’d be closed.   I don’t want
to name names, or positions.   With so many, I would invariably
forget someone.  So, I’ll just say thank you to all our volunteers,
and I sincerely hope that you’ll join me in that.  Whether it’s here
in print, or in person, every volunteer  deserves and appreciates
our gratitude, and that’s the least we can give.
See you here…
